| "Gaillardo" was born of the
idea of the businessman Rossi Raffaello who wanted to let know,
all over the world, the meaning of "gagliardo", a
nickname people used for many generations to call his family
men. After a logn experience as craftsman, he joined his firm
together with his wife's, who worked, like him, in the field
of bags production.
So the "Italbags SRL" was
created, led by Raffaello Rossi who, thanks to his wife
professionalism, managed to become famous not only in Italy,
but all over Europe.
In November 1966, because of
the famous Florence flood, all the buildings, machineries
and raw materials were destroyed and so the production
was suspended. The incredible difficulties of that period
were overcome thanks to the great personal sacrifices and
strong determination of all the firm staff, managing to
obtain a costant and progressive development.
After 1966
production had obviously changed and was mainly oriented
to leather manufactures and any other material, favouring
a business increase.
